How do I use OriginsNext for EUDR orders?

Add suppliers and their locations, create the Order, record origins, work the requirements, generate the report and share it.

You can use OriginsNext to prepare the information for an Order that falls under the EUDR (European Union Deforestation Regulation). OriginsNext is a tool: it collates the data you choose to record, lets you share it with the other organisations on the Order, and submits to the EU only after you have reviewed it. This article lists the steps in the usual order and links to the article for each one.

Important: OriginsNext does not provide regulatory or legal advice. You decide what your due diligence needs and whether pre-configured requirements fit your circumstances. Labels such as Complete or Fully compliant are the platform's own checks of what has been provided, not a regulatory verdict.

Step 1: Add your suppliers and their locations

Add each organisation you source from as a Participant, then add the sites the products come from as its Locations. Upload each Location's boundary as a GeoJSON file or a CAR (Cadastro Ambiental Rural) ZIP when you create it, or add it later with Manage boundaries. You can also keep contacts for each Participant and provide the evidence your ecosystem asks for from the supplier and its Locations on their Required evidence tabs.

Step 2: Create the Order

Create an Order for the shipment from Order Compliance > Orders, with the buyer, the route and the products.

Step 3: Record where the products came from

On the Order's Products tab, allocate the products that fulfil it. You can allocate from existing inventory, or record where the products were processed and which Locations the inputs came from.

Step 4: Work the requirements

The Order's requirements are listed on its Compliance tab. If requirements are pre-configured for the Order's origin country and commodity (HS code), they appear automatically, for example as an EUDR report template; if not, add them yourself. A pre-configured template is a starting point: you can add or remove requirements on one Order, or create your own Order template for repeat needs. Evidence counts on an Order only if your organisation filed it or it was shared with you.

Step 5: Run the deforestation assessment

If the Order's requirements include a deforestation assessment for a Location, start it from that requirement on the Compliance tab. The assessment needs the Location's main boundary. The result opens as evidence that you review.

Step 6: Generate the report

Generate the report from the report card on the Compliance tab, then download the PDF or the geodata if you need them. A report can be generated while some requirements are still outstanding, and you can regenerate it after adding evidence. When the Order is complete is your decision.

Step 7: Share inside the platform

Share the Order and its report with the other organisations on the Order from its Sharing tab, or from the report card. You choose what each organisation sees, notify the people you work with there, and see whether they have opened it.

Step 8: Submit to TRACES after your review

Where EU filing is available to your organisation, you can submit the statement to the EU's TRACES system from the Submit to the EU row on the report card once you have reviewed it and your organisation's TRACES account is connected. See How do I connect my TRACES account?
