OriginsNext is a configurable tool for collecting, organising and sharing supply chain data, and it is not limited to a fixed list of regulations. You decide which requirements apply to your organisation and your Orders. OriginsNext helps you collect the data and Evidence for them, share it with the organisations you choose and, where an integration exists, submit it after you have reviewed it.
Important: OriginsNext does not provide regulatory or legal advice. It does not tell you what a regulation requires, and it does not decide whether your data meets any regulation. Status words such as Complete describe the platform's own checks, not legal compliance.
What you can do with OriginsNext
Whatever framework or buyer requirement you are working to, OriginsNext lets you collect, organise, share and submit your data:
What you can do | How |
Collect | Record Participants, Locations and their boundaries, Products and Events, and attach Evidence such as certificates, permits and trade documents. |
Organise | Set up the evidence you want to collect as Evidence Templates, and add requirements to an Order so that its Compliance tab works as a checklist. |
Share | Share Orders, Evidence and reports with other organisations on the platform. |
Submit | For Orders with EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requirements, submit your data to the EU TRACES system through the platform after you have reviewed it. |
You decide what applies to you
You decide which requirements apply to you and your Orders. Requirements reach an Order in two ways:
Pre-configured: if requirements are pre-configured for the Order's origin country and commodity (HS code), they appear on the Order automatically.
Added by you: if not, add them yourself on the Order, or set up your own Evidence Templates and Order templates for any standard, scheme, certification or buyer requirement.
Pre-configured requirements are a starting point. Check that they fit your circumstances, and change the requirements on the Order or use your own templates where they do not. Some requirements are optional, and you decide when an Order is ready: a report can be generated while items are still outstanding.
To set up your own requirements, see How do I add an Evidence Template? and What is an Order Evidence Requirement?
Frameworks with pre-configured templates or integrations
Some frameworks have pre-configured templates or integrations in OriginsNext. The table shows what OriginsNext provides for each; it does not describe what the framework requires.
Framework | What OriginsNext provides |
EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) | Pre-configured Order requirements for some origin countries and commodities, and submission of your data to the EU TRACES system after you review it. To submit, first connect your organisation's TRACES account on the Integrations tab in Settings. |
Australian Wildlife Traceability System (AWTS) | A pre-configured ecosystem for tracing coral, set up for the Australian Government. |
For any other regulation, standard, certification or buyer requirement, you can set up your own Evidence Templates and add them to your Orders. You can see all of the OriginsNext solutions here.
