What does an EUDR report template ask for?

An EUDR report template groups what it asks for by location, participant, product and Order. It is a starting point you check.

An EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation) report template is a pre-configured Evidence Template that lists the supporting items OriginsNext collects for an Order, such as documents, boundaries and declarations. If a report template is pre-configured for the Order's origin country and commodity (HS code), it appears on the Order's Compliance tab automatically, for example Brazil Wood EUDR Report. If not, you add requirements yourself. The template is a starting point: you decide whether it fits your circumstances.

Where the report template appears

To see what an EUDR report template asks for, open the Order and go to the Compliance tab. Under Order compliance requirements, the report appears as a requirement card with its name, its status and a count of supporting requirements done, for example 2/31. Below the card:

  • A line such as Supporting requirements · 16 optional shows how many supporting requirements the template makes optional. Click Hide to collapse the list.

  • Use the search box and the All, Incomplete and Required chips to show every requirement, only those not done yet, or only the required ones.

How the supporting requirements are grouped

The supporting requirements of an EUDR report template are shown in numbered groups, in the order the template sets. The Brazil Wood EUDR Report, for example, uses ten groups: 01 Deforestation, 02 Degradation, 03 Land tenure, 04 Environmental, 05 Harvest, 06 Third party rights, 07 Labour, 08 Tax and standing, 09 Traceability and 10 Certification. Other report templates can use different groups and items.

What each requirement attaches to

Each supporting requirement in an EUDR report template attaches to one kind of record, and its count shows how many of those records on the Order have what it asks for. The examples come from the Brazil Wood EUDR Report:

Attaches to

Example count

Example requirements

Locations

0 out of 1 locations complete

Production Area Boundary, Property Title Certificate, Rural Property Registration Certificate

Participants

1 out of 2 participants complete

Federal Tax Clearance Certificate, Company Registration Card, FSC Chain of Custody Certificate

Products

0 out of 1 products complete

Raw Material Purchase Invoice

The Order itself

0/1

Sales Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading

A location requirement counts the Order's locations, such as the sites the product comes from. A participant requirement counts the organisations on the Order. An Order requirement is a document for that shipment, such as a bill of lading.

Required and optional items

In an EUDR report template, an Optional badge marks a supporting requirement that the template makes optional. Items without the badge are required by the template. An unmet optional requirement is still listed on the Order, but it does not affect the Order's compliance status. Whether an optional item applies to your Order is your decision.

A starting point you check

An EUDR report template shows how requirements have been pre-configured in OriginsNext for an origin country and commodity. It is not advice on what your due diligence needs. Check it against your own circumstances, and change it where it does not fit:

  • To add or remove requirements on one Order, click Edit on the Order compliance requirements panel of the Compliance tab.

  • For requirements you use again and again, your organisation can create its own Evidence Templates and Order templates.

  • If you think a pre-configured template should change, tell the OriginsNext support team.

To change an Order's requirements, see How do I add compliance requirements to an Order? To create your own template, see How do I add an Evidence Template?

Note: Labels such as Complete on the report card describe the platform's own checks against the template, not whether the Order meets any regulation. You can generate the report while items are still outstanding; you decide when it is ready.
