How do I view coral details by scanning a tag?

Scan a coral tag on the CTS mobile app to view its summary, location, order details, events and photos.

View Coral looks up a specimen by scanning its tag and shows its details in the Coral Traceability Solution (CTS). You can view a specimen if you are permissioned for it. You start from the View Coral tile on the Home screen.

Scan a tag to open the details

On the Home screen, tap View Coral. The View coral screen shows 'Press button on your device to view specimen details', with the scanning method switch icon in the top-right. Scan a single coral tag. If you are permissioned to view it, the specimen detail screen opens.

To learn who can view a specimen, see Who can view a coral specimen on the CTS mobile app?

What the detail screen shows

The specimen detail screen can include:

  • Summary: the variety and/or species name (for example, 'Staghorn Coral - Ultra - Large'), a specimen photo if available, species, source code, generation, current owner and country of origin.

  • Origin location: a map of the specimen's current or latest known location.

  • Order details: if the specimen is part of an order, the order ID, buyer and destination.

  • Traceability events: a chronological list of events, each with a date, an event type (such as 'Wild coral registered' or 'Order packed') and an icon.

  • Growth history: a set of date based weight, length and height records.

  • Photos: thumbnails of all photos captured for the specimen; tap a photo to enlarge it.

Related actions

From the specimen detail screen you can also download permits and licences attached to the specimen's order, or edit a traceability event your organisation created.
