What types of Evidence can be applied in OriginsNext?

Learn about the types of Evidence you can record in OriginsNext, such as certifications, audit reports and declarations.

Evidence in OriginsNext is documentation or data, such as a certificate, report or declaration, that you record about something in your supply chain. It can be applied to participants, products, locations, orders or product templates. Common types include:

Evidence type

Examples

Certifications

Organic, Fair Trade, BRC.

Audit reports

Third-party audit results.

Test results

Residue or soil tests.

Sustainability declarations

Supplier declarations and other self-declared statements.

Legal or customs documentation

Permits, licences and export or customs documents.

Trade documents

A bill of lading or other shipping documents. These can be set as supporting document requirements on an Order.

System-generated evidence

Evidence created by the platform rather than uploaded, such as a deforestation assessment.

Each type is set up as an Evidence Template and reused across the platform. Evidence can include metadata such as the issuer, validity period, file attachments and notes. The template's type determines which fields appear when you create or apply the evidence.

For how to set one up, see How do I add an Evidence Template?
