You can create an order directly on the Australian Wildlife Traceability System (AWTS) mobile app, then pack it. You reach the Create order action from the Pack Order screen.
You can also create an order on the OriginsNext desktop app, which is often a quicker and easier way to set one up. See How do I create an Order?
Open Create order
From the Pack Order screen, open the Create order action.
To get to Pack Order, see How do I pack an order on the AWTS mobile app?
Enter the order details
Enter the order details:
Buyer: tap the field and choose the buyer from the Select buyer list (search as you type). Required.
Sales order ID: type the order number. Required.
Purchase order ID: type it if you have one. Optional.
Order date: pre-populated to today's date; tap to pick a different date. Required.
Set the locations
Departure location: pre-populated to your default location; you can change it. Required.
Destination location: choose where the order is going. The list leaves out your departure location, so the two cannot be the same. Required.
Add product types
Until you add one, the card reads 'No products added yet'. Add one or more products in either of these ways:
Scan a product sticker: tap SCAN, line up each product sticker and press the round photo button. A 'Product added' confirmation appears and the scanner stays open for the next sticker. Scanning captures the product type, description and source code.
Add manually: tap + Add product manually and fill in the card: Product type, Quantity (in pieces), Description, and CITES Source Code. All four are required for each product.
To remove a product before saving, tap EDIT, then the trash icon, and tap DONE when finished.
Save the order
When every required field is filled and at least one product with a quantity of 1 or more is added, the Create Order button turns blue. Tap it. A green 'Order created' banner confirms it, and you can then pack the order.
To pack the order, see How do I pack an order on the AWTS mobile app?
Error messages you may see
If an action cannot be completed, the AWTS mobile app shows a short message. Here is what the messages you are most likely to see when creating an order mean, and what to do.
Message | What it means and what to do |
'The order could not be created. Please try again.' | Submitting failed. Your entries are kept; tap OK and try again. |
'That sticker wasn't recognised' / 'Product not found, try again' / 'Already added this sticker' | A product sticker was not read, or is already added. Re-align and scan again; a sticker you have already added is not duplicated. |
For a full list of messages, see What do the error and status messages on the AWTS mobile app mean?
