How do I log into OriginsNext for the first time from an invitation email?

Activate your OriginsNext account from email invitation.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

When your organisation or a participant invites you to join the OriginsNext platform, you will receive an email invitation from [email protected].

Step 1 – Accept the invitation and create your password

  1. Open the invitation email with the subject: “Welcome to OriginsNext – Activate your account”

  2. Click the Accept and Login button

  3. You’ll be redirected to the Set Password screen

  4. Create and confirm your password, then click Continue

  5. You will then be asked to agree to the OriginsNext End User Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, click 'Accept' to complete your registration.

You’re now logged in and ready to use your OriginsNext account. We recommend visiting Settings → Account to review and manage your details to ensure they are correct.

Step 2 – For Administrator users only: Set up two-factor authentication (2FA)

When a new administrator is invited to OriginsNext, they must complete two steps to activate their account:

  1. Set a password and log in

  2. Set up two-factor authentication (2FA).

This process ensures secure access and admin privileges.

Before you begin this step: You’ll need an authenticator app installed on your phone (e.g. Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator). See: How do I download an Authenticator App?

  1. After setting your password, you will be prompted to enable 2FA

  2. A QR code will appear on screen

  3. Open your authenticator app → choose Add account → Scan QR code

  4. Scan the QR code displayed on screen

  5. The app will generate a 6-digit code that refreshes every 30 seconds

  6. Enter the code in OriginsNext and click Verify

Important: A backup recovery code will appear on screen. Store this code securely. It allows you to regain access if you lose your device.

You’re now logged in and ready to use your OriginsNext administrator account. We recommend visiting Settings → Users to review or manage your organisation’s users and permissions.

Troubleshooting

  • Didn’t receive an invitation email? If you thought you should have received an invitation email and didn’t, please check your spam/junk folder for an email from [email protected]

  • Lost or changed phone? Use your backup code to log in, then reset 2FA from Account Settings → Security

  • Authenticator not working? Check that your phone’s time is set to automatic
