A Participant is an organisation (or individual) in your digital Ecosystem: one of the parties you work with across your supply chain. Your own organisation is a Participant, as are the suppliers, buyers, logistics providers, regulators, financiers and certifiers you connect with. Participants are stored in the Participants Registry under Ecosystem Registries.
What a Participant record holds
A name and legal name, and whether it is an organisation or an individual.
Identifiers, such as an official business identifier.
Address and primary contact details.
A public or private visibility setting.
Its relationships to other Participants, and its linked Locations, Evidences and Products.
How Participants are used
Participants are referenced throughout OriginsNext. An Order has a buyer and a seller; Products and Events record a current owner and custodian; and Evidence is issued by, and awarded to, Participants. Recording each Participant once in the registry keeps this information consistent across the platform.
To add one, see How do I add a new organisation to my ecosystem? For how Participants connect to each other, see What is a participant relationship? To browse them, see How do I view and search the Participants list?
