In OriginsNext you add a Participant to your ecosystem so it can be used in Orders, traceability Events, Evidence sharing and compliance workflows. A Participant is usually an Organisation (such as a customer, buyer or regulator), but can also be an Individual. You can search for an existing organisation in the business register or enter one manually.
Where to add a Participant
Add a Participant from the Participants List (Ecosystem Registries > Participants) using the Add participant button, or inline from any form where you can add an organisation (for example, while creating an Order). You can start by entering the participant's Official Business Identifier, which checks whether they are already in the registry and helps prevent duplicates.
To view the list, see How do I view and search the Participants list?
Identification
Choose the Participant Type (Organisation or Individual), then choose how to add them:
Search Business Register: search by Business Name, ABN or ACN to find and pull in the official record. Using a unique identifier is the fastest way and avoids duplicates.
Manually Enter Organisation: enter the details yourself if the organisation is not in the register.
Relationship
Set how the Participant is connected to you: choose one or more Relationship type values (Supplier or Buyer, Logistics, Regulator or Regulated, Financier or Financed or Other) and set the Nature of relationship to Direct or indirect. You can change this later.
For more on relationship types, see How do I set or remove a participant relationship?
Primary contact person
Optionally add a primary contact (Contact name, Email, Phone Number). This person is the main point of contact, may receive ecosystem notifications, and their details may be visible to other participants who interact with this Participant. Click Save and Close to add the Participant; it appears in your Participants List with the selected relationship and an Active status, ready to use across OriginsNext.
