A Bulk Product is a quantity (a mass) held at a Location, that was created through a series of bulk receivers and bulk outturn events. You can tell a Bulk Product apart from an Identifiable one by its Type, which shows Bulk on the Products list and on the Product. Because a Bulk Product is a quantity/volume rather than separate units, you read it from the Inventory position panel and the Product Movements on the Product's Overview.
For the difference between the two Types, see What is a Product?
Open a Bulk product
To open a Bulk Product and read its position:
Navigate to Product Traceability > Products from the menu.
Find a Product whose Type is Bulk and select the relevant row.
Stay on the Overview tab. The right side of the Overview shows the Inventory position panel for the Bulk Product.
The Inventory position panel
The Inventory position panel summarises how much stock you hold and how much of it is backed by Evidence. It shows three quantities (for example in tonnes):
Quantity | What it shows |
Total Quantity | The total volume of the Bulk Product you currently hold. |
Evidenced | The portion of the total that is backed by a specific claim or review. |
Non-Evidenced | The remaining portion that is not yet backed by Evidence. |
For example, a Total Quantity of 8,590.4 tonnes might split into 5,693.11 tonnes Evidenced and 2,897.29 tonnes Non-Evidenced.
Mass balance evidences
When available, below the totals, Mass balance evidences are shown as cards. Each card names a claim or review and shows a percentage and a quantity of the volume that the claim or review covers, for example a Deforestation and Conversion Free review covering 1,156.04 tonnes (13%). This is mass-balance accounting: a proportion of the Bulk volume is backed by specific Evidence, and the rest is Non-Evidenced. The mass does not need to be physically separated; the proportions are tracked against the pooled volume.
Selecting a card filters the chart to that claim or review.
An All card shows the total across every claim and review.
Running Quantities chart
The Running Quantities chart plots your holding over time, showing Total Quantity against the Evidenced quantity. It lets you see how much stock you held and how much of it was backed by Evidence at each point in time.
Product Movements
The Product Movements section is the ledger of inflows and outflows for the Bulk Product. It has a chart that splits movements into Evidenced and Non-Evidenced over time, and a table that lists each movement. The table columns are:
Column | What it shows |
Type | The kind of movement, for example an Outturn (an outflow or drawdown) or a bulk receival (an inflow). |
Product ID | The id of the Product involved in the movement. |
Origin/Destination | Where the stock came from or went to. |
Date | When the movement happened. |
Quantity | The amount that moved. |
Evidence | Whether the movement is backed by Evidence. |
Movement Type tells you the direction of the stock:
Bulk outturn: an outflow, where stock is drawn down from the Bulk Product.
Bulk receival: an inflow, where stock is added to the Bulk Product.
Note: A Bulk Product is your current, settled inventory at a Location, but each movement is tracked as an Identifiable Product while it is in transit. The Product ID in the table is a link, so selecting a movement (for example a receival) opens the Identifiable Product view for that in-transit quantity, where you can follow its own journey.
