If a Location your organisation owns is no longer valid, you can archive it so it can no longer be used in new records, while keeping it for historical traceability. Only Locations your organisation owns can be archived.
Archive a Location
Go to Ecosystem Registries > Locations and find the Location on the Our locations tab. In the row's Actions column, click the archive action. The Location's status changes to Archived. You can unarchive it from the same action if you need it back.
Once archived, the Location no longer appears in selection menus for new Events, Orders, Evidence or Movements, but it remains available for historical traceability.
Note: archiving does not delete the Location from the system, it simply removes it from active use. The Location detail page also has a delete control.
Note: archiving applies only to Locations your organisation owns. To stop seeing a Location owned by another organisation, you unlink it instead. See Why can't I see another organisation's Location or its boundaries?
