You can manually add a new location in OriginsNext when it doesn’t already exist in the system. This is essential for ensuring all supply chain events are tied to valid, traceable locations.
Important: Before creating a new location, search thoroughly your organisations existing locations in Settings > Locations, or for other organisations locations in the form search fields (using name, organisation or address).
When should I add a new location?
If you need to create an event, order, evidence or movement it will require locations to be pre-added in the OriginsNext location registry. If a location is not found during entry, it may not yet exist in the location registry yet and you’ll need to add it as follows:
Ways to access the “Add Location” screen:
Option 1 – Via Settings:
Click your account name in the top-right corner.
Select Settings, then click the Locations tab.
Click the + Add Location button.
Option 2 – From an Evidence, Order or Movement form:
When creating a new evidence, order or movement, upon receiving an empty search result in the location form field, click the “Add a new Location” link beneath the field.
Option 3 – Via API
For detailed API instructions please refer to the article: How do I access API documentation?
