Administrators can create API (application programming interface) credentials so that your own systems, such as an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system, can connect to the OriginsNext client API and read and write OriginsNext data. You create and manage API credentials in Settings, on the Integrations tab.
Note: Only Administrators can create and manage API credentials.
Open API access
API credentials are managed on the API access page, which you open from the Integrations tab of Settings.
To open API access:
Click your account name in the top-right corner and select Settings.
Select the Integrations tab.
On the API access card, click Manage credentials. The card also shows how many of your credentials are active.
The API access page lists your existing credentials with the columns Status, Client Id, Token Name, Expires On and Actions.
Create API credentials
To create API credentials, click Add API credentials on the API access page and complete the dialog.
To create API credentials:
Click Add API credentials and complete the dialog:
Token Name: a name that describes the integration (for example, ERP Sync or Sensor Upload).
Expires On: the date (DD/MM/YYYY) when the credentials should expire.
Click Save.
Copy the Client Id and the secret that are shown, and store the secret securely.
Important: Each secret is shown only once, when the credentials are created. If you did not copy it, create new API credentials.
