The Coral Traceability Solution (CTS) mobile app asks for a few Android permissions so it can scan tags, take photos and stay connected to OriginsNext. The app only requests what it genuinely needs. This article explains each permission and how to re-enable one you denied.
Permissions the app uses
The first time you use certain features, Android asks you to allow a permission:
Internet / network access: to sign in and send your scans and records to OriginsNext. The app is online by design.
Bluetooth: to find and connect to a Bluetooth RFID reader.
Location: Android requires location access to discover nearby Bluetooth readers. It is also used to record where wild coral was harvested.
Camera: to scan QR-coded tags and product stickers, and to take photos of specimens.
On a handheld with a built-in coral tag reader, the built-in reader works automatically and needs no permission prompt.
Fixing a permission you denied
If you tapped Deny on a permission and a feature stopped working (for example, the camera will not open), you can re-enable it:
Open your device's Settings.
Go to Apps, then Coral Traceability Solution, then Permissions.
Turn on the permission you need (Camera, Nearby devices or Bluetooth, or Location).
