When you scan with Manual Entry (the Visual ID method) on the Coral Traceability Solution (CTS) mobile app, you can let the app create a unique tag ID for you instead of typing one. This is useful when a specimen does not yet have a printed tag.
Generate and add a Visual ID
You do this on the Visual ID scanning screen, which is the Manual Entry method.

To generate and add a Visual ID:
On the Visual ID screen, make sure the Enter ID field is empty.
Tap GENERATE next to the Enter ID field. A unique ID is created and filled into the field.
Tap the blue + (add) button to add it to the Scanned items list. The ID appears prefixed 'VID.' and the field clears.
Once at least one item is in the Scanned items list, the Register coral button becomes active.
